Hello all. Just thought I'd share my little restoration of my 6139-7100 Vader. Please excuse the lousy photographs as all I have is a camera phone. This one was one of my early HHC purchases I made as a novice collector. I didn't realize until much later that the case had been completely refinished. Fortunately, the dial and most everything else were original to the watch and it runs extremely well, keeping very good time with a strong reserve, so I decided to try and fix it up rather than sell it off. Recently, I was able to find a decent, unmolested case with the original micro-groove finish intact. It had a badly beaten up crystal and the inner tachy bezel was faded completely, but my watch had those parts in proper order. Though it was my first attempt dealing with this bezel/crystal construction, I managed to successfully swap cases without damaging the finish. The gasket was fortunately undamaged. The crystal is AM, but I'm not too concerned about that. I put it on a new Swedefreak Fishbone and I couldn't be happier. The polished case. The unmolested case. A little shot of the work in progress. The finished product. Along with my other 6139s. The middle 6005 I was able to finish with much thanks to John, jringo8769. As a bonus, I was also able to finish installing a new 6309 crystal purchased from Spencer on the 'bay. Thanks for looking!

Nice job! It only gets worse from here. Now that you tackled some of the case work you'll be buying more watches to work on..............

Nice job! It only gets worse from here. Now that you tackled some of the case work you'll be buying more watches to work on.............. You're very right! I was unhappy with the hand refinish job I did on my 6005 case. I found an unpolished case in a bit better condition than mine, with a beaten up but surprisingly still running movement inside pretty cheap (chronograph hammer was bent and pushed behind a chrono button!). Cleaned up the case and swapped it out with my 6005, and couldn't be happier! Apologies for my poor photography, again.
