Ordered an Obris Morgan rubber strap way back inid November. After a couple weeks of non movement on the tracking o contacted them to see what had happened and they said most likely lost. They sent another which is due by the end of the year but that too has had no movement on the tracking so fingers crossed. Well, the one I ordered originally back in 12th November turned up this afternoon. I've informed them and said that if and when the second one arrives I'll contact them again for their direct payment details as I don't like to be THAT person. BTW - To any newcomers to Obris Morgan rubber straps. Do NOT just take out the strap and throw the envelope as they pack the buckle in a separate small plastic Ziploc baggy. I had to rummage in the bins outside and thankfully it hadn't tipped out into the bin itself. P.S - They no longer have the vanilla aroma

Oops, I inadvertently just bought a running 7123 (Type II) from December '79 for 1¥. Of course crystal and case look bad, but dial and hands are nice. Feel really pity for the poor seller. Originally it was meant to be a donor, but I guess I will clean it up and keep it as 'cheapest watch ever'...

A few of my bargains have not made the journey and a refund has ensued. Mind you, that was in the bay so maybe you’ll fare better.

Got a Poljot 3133 reissue coming in the mail, we'll see if it holds up compared to the original already in my box 😁 (At least this one has a stainless steel case)

A lot of sellers on Yahoo JP state in their listing something along the lines of "Successful bid may be canceled if buyer is does not respond immediately or has poor feedback" which is basically a catch-all excuse to cancel the transaction if the bid is too low or not to their liking. If a seller does it enough times and the buyers files complaints then the seller may eventually be kicked off of Yahoo auctions, but it's pretty difficult to prove a seller's intent to cancel due to a low final price, so typically nothing comes of it. It sucks, but that's the game you have to play.

Expect the shipping and handling charges to be about twice what they normally are. I bid on a women's Seiko on YJ one time just to see what a Japanese seller might do in this situation. I think the auction started and ended at about 100 10 yen. Of course, I was the only bidder.
Despite the 'hammer price' only being about $1.00 $0.10, by the time the watch made it to Buyee's warehouse I was into it for about $15.00.

This one was a ¥1 buy if I remember correctly. It does happen.

Few midsize quartz divers I picked up from yahoo jp. Very happy all runners and no issues. Time for some crystal polishing!

I've made my first purchase for the year. The sellers photos aren't much chop, but I'm happy to take a punt given the minimal outlay. I've been wanting a hand winding Seiko for a while now and this is a super thin model with hand winding 6660a movement inside. A couple of old posts on one of the forums says it's a nice movement. Apparently they make attractive cuff links too 😃 My only concern - I'm guessing the movement comes out through the front.

The 6660A is a gorgeous little calibre. I've bought and restored a couple of them(no watches). I put one in a watch that had a 66A movement.
The time keeping was excellent so long as you didn't for get to wind it every morning.

I've been looking for a Seiko 6138-8030/39 "John Player Special" for awhile. Very hard to find with a decent dial and untouched case, but I've finally found one at a decent price!

In a major departure from my Seiko habit, I chanced upon this little gem from '66 . . .

I was casually browsing online when I got an unexpected email notification from buyee saying that my bid had been received. Now, this is not the first time this has happened: browse YJ, leave a low snipe bid, and subsequently forget all about it.. This time it resulted in this: From what I could gather from the photos, it’s a rather decent 5625-7000. Case looks probably unpolished, but is rather dirty and likely has some wear and tear. Most importantly (for me), the dial looks good, with only a bit of discolouring around 9 o clock. The reason I didn’t bid very much was that the translated description was even more cryptic than usual, however it did say it ran, and the quickset (probably) works, so just how bad can it be?
