Got me a patter patter clock. Now I need to figure out how to convert it to 240v without using a plugin transformer. These use the power line frequency, rather than a quartz crystal, to maintain time. Hopefully a second tap on an internal transformer makes this easy. Maybe start a post in the servicing area and upload a few photos of the guts so we can all chime in!

Well, some new ones in my basket in Asia... All too cheap to let them go... This Time Sonar looks so tired, but at the price of a crappy hands set on ebay, it deserves to be restored. It seems someone needed some parts... I'll have to source some. Can 7015 and 7017 movements or parts be swapped ? Does anyone have a parts donor ? This serviced SKX013 was also so cheap, my nephew asked me one. He'll get to choose his favorite of the two to come. This 1977 4336-8000 joined the family earlier this morning. The seller also offered me an SRPC99J1 presage (cocktail champagne) needing a bit cleaning, I forwarded it to a friend looking for one.

A different kind of time-nuttery is currently on its way to me; one of these (HP 5334B Universal Counter) with OXCO, HPIB and 1.3GHz channel C options. (SNIP) A side project with inboost brought this lack of capability to my attention; once I realized there was such a hole in my wall of TE, I couldn't not fill it. mnem It arrived today, and boy is it ever much, much nicer than advertised. I guess being first to buy from the lot, I got pick of the litter. Tho with these options and how clean it is inside, it would still have been a good deal with the handles and trim and feet missing as in the listing! mnem *counting myself very lucky*So once I finally got some bench time, I spent an afternoon last weekend cleaning up my new baby. The label ookum was especially perverse; but I did eventually get it all off, and I designed and printed a replacement for that power button. Here it is in its new home, my little "HP Corner"; measuring a very approximately 10MHz signal from my 8111A. And here it is being used in anger for the very first time; measuring the output from a OXCO dev board I knocked together. mnem

Grabbed my first 6139 and my favorite version of it - the 6022 pulsation. It's definitely gonna need a lot of love 😅 BTW appumaster I messaged you about a crown/stem!

I seem to be on a Citizens quartz diver kick lately. This 2855-265980 will be going into a new box.

Coming soon from Japan is an original XGL731 for my Willard. I hope it’s not too brittle. Update: It's very supple and pliant, but the bad news is that someone narrowed it down on the ends to fit an 18mm watch, so the excess gap looks like hell. Bummer. Would look great therefore on a 7005-8030 or a 7005-8050/8052/7025-8099;)

Maybe I’ll hang onto it to see if I come across an 18mm diver.

I'm thinking a black ink tube from a ball pen might be a good source to slice up.

Oh wow victor , that is a wonderful find! Looks minty fresh too! TinkeringFR - I love these Time Sonars. I still have yet to service mine so I don't have answers just yet. mnementh - I think we might have to ask Groundhog66 for our own sub forum 'The Mad Time Scientists Bench'

victor , your last citizen is just... wow... I think i'll start to hunt for some more too in the next times. inboost , I didn't expect to find a time sonar where i'm usually hunting, It just fell out of the sky, without expecting it. I think it will take some time to find what parts are missing. I didn't find a lot of documentation about 7015 and 7017 movements. Hey still for you inboost , look what was in the mail today... Sure you know what it means... There was also something a bit bigger... And I already tested this new tool toy... 4.5 liter (1.2 gal), 180W ultrasonic power, and some interesting functions to test.

I'll be sure to help you out with the Time Sonar i any way I can regardless. As I've said a few times around here I need to do a write up on servicing mine when I get the courage up! I also have some good cross reference documents we can use to locate donor movements. Once you have it we can figure it all out, I'm sure of it!

This world time bracelet showed up in Japan for a fair price. I knew it wouldn’t last, so I wasted no time checking dapellegrini ’s website for authenticity and I think it’s good. Every time I sat back and watched these come up, I’ve missed out. But this time I just pulled the trigger.
