I am weak, I admit it. It's an illness, I'm sure. After collecting a nice batch of 12 birth year watches, I started to notice some of the poorer specimens and thought maybe I could get a selection of beaters from '65. So far I've failed because despite the fact that they're not the best of examples, I can't bring myself to wear them without trying to protect them from harm The first is a ( June) 6619-8050 I got in a trade with a member of TOF a while back. Then came the (Feb) 7606-7000 Sportsmatic Deluxe ( birth year and month): And yesterday I got this ( July)6601-8930. From Japan and a smidgen over £30 with no nasty customs/RMbastards charges: It needs a new crystal, and has lost 10s in 10 hrs, but I can live with that. And what's even better is that I put in a ridiculously low snipe when it was sitting at £6.50, and had completely forgotten about it by the time I got the notification that I'd won it. I had decided that due to upcoming large car maintenance bills I would not buy anything this month, so this has stretched the budget somewhat, but I'm pleased with it. Only 9 more to go. AGAIN !!!!!!

Pretty nice watches. It must be nice to be able to find birth year watches...the closest I can come is something Fred Flintstone might have worn

I really like the few Seikos with no day or date. The indices just seem crisper.
