I have been searching for a nice 6139 to purchase. Came across this auction from Retroo1: 6139-6002 Ebay from Retroo1Retroo1 FeedbackSo I look up his feedback and it seems he sells essentially the same 2 watches, same coloration, again and again [6139-6002 Yellow/Pepsi and a White Faced Bullhead]. At first I think...no way...fake feedback. Except when I look at the numbers of the watch buyers feedback it says legit...you can't fake that. So is this seller just hooked up with mass quantities of some very desirable watches? Are they real? Are they worth that much??

Keep away from that seller if I were you. Uses lots of aftermarket parts. He also goes by the name beejoo4. The retroo is normally the stuff that doesn't come up as well as what he sells under the name beejoo. Well known on the forums for ripping folk off with aftermarket crap.

Well listen to Cockroach...he works on these all the time....that link you added...that watch does not look like original parts...dial is the wrong color...the caseback is from 72 which means the dial should say resist too...band is from the later model as well..it is the tapered design and not the correct straight style band it should have....with all the nice original ones out there..it is a shame to not make them right if you are going to do that...be careful when you buy these...i would much rather have a watch that is all original that needs a little work that one that is full of parts that i will have to change because they are all wrong....God Bless John...you should be able to find a nice one for a lot less that too

From the collectors point of view there is too much wrong with that one, the dial and hands have lume....because they are aftermarket, and not even the correct shape, all of them. Pretty much all the watches sold by Bettlejuice and repoo are polished turds.

Avoid with prejudice. The hardest part to replace on these is the dial. If that isn't right, there is no way you can save it. The dial on this one is a reproduction.

That guy is one of the eBay sellers on my never buy from list. To find a decent watch you have to sieve through loads of deceptive crap like this and it does take patience.

hey i learned the hard way...i saw one i liked and i was told it was running and all original...pics of course were terrible..and when i got it ..the crown was loose in the packaging...the stem was broken...case was dented and pushers were bent...seller sent in a envelope.. i was more than upset...so for a few months i did nothing with it...but what this taught me...even though what i got was bad...i was able to make something out of it..thankfully it had not been "restored" like the ones you were looking at...it was a good honest watch...they are out there...just dont get one that needs a case...pushers...crown and stem assembly and a full service for big money... so if you need any help...feel free to pm me any time...God Bless John

I dealt with this "clown" on ebay about 8 months ago. He lies and lies and doesn't give an honest description of what he sells by not disclosing everything to the buyer. It took me about 2 months to get my money back after threatening him that I'd push things to the limit with ebay. He sure didn't like that! Stay away from him at all costs.

How do so many people here have a issue with what he is selling but no negative feedback on ebay for him? If it was me I would post negative feedback and scream from the top of the tallest building so my fellow wis wouldn't get screwed by him also.
Just my .02

Just my .02 I guess it's because a lot of people actually like their vintages to be "restored". I had a similar discussion on WUS sometime back, and there are actually many buyers who don't care for the originality of a vintage piece - they just like something that looks good and aren't really worried about aftermarket parts, polishing and what not. If you take a look at some of the ones that pop up on watchrecon you see a good number of cobbled 6139s and 6138s too.
