You'll need a crystal press. Once it's lined up perfectly, I usually tape the bezel in place. Then I press it home with the press. It's the only way because it's a tight fit.

Another vote for this method. The tape keeps the tach markers in the right place. Be careful lining up the die on the ring. If you press directly on the insert you may lose the print on the insert (ask me how I know). I can make exact fitting dies for these bezels if there's any interest (I think they come out to about 42mm or something). You'll need a crystal press. Once it's lined up perfectly, I usually tape the bezel in place. Then I press it home with the press. It's the only way because it's a tight fit.

I'd be interested depending on price and it would have to fit my Seiko S-220 crystal press. Currently I'm using a S-160 33mm nylon die which works nicely and hasn't marked a bezel yet. I wouldn't mind having a closer fitting die though as it's just a bit on the large size.

I use blue 3M masking tape on 6139, etc. marked bezels Otherwise I find no need if the aluminum press die is smooth. The key is preparation. Spend a few minutes in advance. Put the clear soft plastic protector on the crystal. Tape off the bezel. Tape down every bezel so the removal gap on the underside is perfectly centered on 6 o'clock (or 12 o'clock as the case may be). Use the right tools and correct crystal die. Make darn sure it won't apply pressure to the crystal, just the bezel. If it's a crystal direct press into the top of the case like some dress 6309's, 7625s, etc. be sure to protect the crystal itself as per above. Be confident and Go For It - You CAN do this ! ! !

On these I just need the diameter of the tangs that go into the hole in your dies and I can make any size/shape you want. They're usually 5mm or 5.5mm. I made a bunch of various, uncommon sizes ages ago but haven't worked out how to market them properly yet. What I was thinking is to make a larger one that has a stepped inside, so it clips on the very edge of the bezel and minimises or eliminates contact with the insert. Another vote for this method. The tape keeps the tach markers in the right place. Be careful lining up the die on the ring. If you press directly on the insert you may lose the print on the insert (ask me how I know). I too would be interested in a custom die that only touches the bezel but not the insert.

I'd be interested.
My press is designed to take screw on dies, but I have used the smallest flat bottomed die (nylon) and just left it in place. So, all I need is for yours to have a flat back.
