I wanted to share my first 6309 with you guys. I received this one from Rene. It is a watch that he put together. I would call this a true Wrist Sushi watch, as there were many on this forum who contributed in it's creation. The star of the show are the Suwa dial/movement/handset. The water resist is still red. They are a serviced donor from another watch. And they are a beauty. The brushed case has a lovely satin look to it. I love the side view. One of my favourite parts! The crystal is flawless. Note the frosted hardlex. With the furry member of the family. (I think she was bored with pictures). One cool thing about this watch that is amazing to me, is that it still has lume. It does not last a long time, but it is there. Pardon the grainy photo. My cell phone does not like low light pictures. In action with the furry one. Thank you, Rene, for the lovely watch. And thank you to those who helped put it together! Thanks for looking!

That is a beauty. I've had my 6309-7049 over 25 years and it will out live me.

Congrats on your purchase, enjoy the heck out of it!
That said, I do see a couple things wrong with that one though. The crystal appears to be AM, due to it's polished bevel. The bezel insert, while it may be a Seiko, does not appear to be from a 6309-704x...it lacks the textured surface IMO. Not sure if you were told it was all original, but is doesn't appear to be. I do love the color of the Water Resist text, very nice!

That's a keeper and it's extremely handsome for an older gent My first and only one is neither original, nor did it come in one piece. It is a compilation of new, AM and older parts; nearly all except the movement were gifted to me from members of this forum. I salvaged a nice 6349 23 jewel movement from an abused and ugly dress watch and did my thing to it. The results are as you see. I love it the way it is...but a really nice one like yours would be almost as much fun

Welcome to the madness!
Ya can't have just one 6309 diver, they are so beautiful. I just snapped one up off the 'bay for a very reasonable price, although it is listed as not running. We'll see!
Have fun on the hunt for another and enjoy that sweet iconic watch!!!!
