Anyone have a clue? The best guess I can come up with is some king of 80's Casio digital; maybe an F91-W or similar.

He wore a Microma, PVD version. Those became veery pricey on ebay, unless the seller is unaware of the movie connection.( gold version of the same watch is much cheaper)

There are two versions in the 'correct' Microma PVD watch that get mixed up on the auction site as the same watch Deckard wore. There is a two button and a three button version. The one that Deckard wore is the three button. Also, don't be fooled by those selling the gold or silver versions as the Blade Runner watch. It's the same as those selling the Alien watches. Same watch in design but not in colour. Reason I know this is, I have been trying for a long time to pick up a good one. Missed a couple going cheap, but they are usually around the $1000+ mark at the moment for good ones. When they turn up that is. Mainly I think, due to all the chat going on about the Blade Runner sequal. Happy searching and good luck.

Any historical info as to why he wore this watch in the movie?
Was it his personal watch?
Belonged to a crew member or something like the Goldfinger Bond Sub?
Was the film filmed somewhere outside of Hollywood where maybe that watch was commonly found at the time?

Hi I've owned the black and silver versions in the past, I've only ever had the two button in black but did have a silver one with three buttons, I still have a two button version that I've kept because of its connection to Gordon Moore (moore's law). the strange thing about the two button and the three button versions is that the module is exactly the same, you can put one from a two button one into a three button case and gain the extra function just by having the third button.
Here's my old girl still running well

I did have links to more info on the watch and why it was in the movie. Will see if i can find it. It was on a Linux machine I built a while back from old parts for fun. Not sure if I copied the links over to my laptop.
Side note. Blade Runner is one of my favourite movies. Still have two VHS version, original & directors cut.
Plus the 5 movie versions on DVD
Final Cut (2007) American theatrical cut (1982) International theatrical cut (1982) Director Cut (1992) Working Print (pre-film release cut)
1982 Original workprint (failed in audience tests, released in box-set only): no voice over no happy ending no unicorn dream
1982 US theatrical release: voice overs happy ending (Deckard and Rachel drive through the countryside) no unicorn dream
1982 International release: more violence in certain scenes
1992 Director's Cut (not done by Scott, but approved by him): no voice overs no happy ending (Deckard and Rachel just leave Deckard's flat) unicorn dream (suggesting that Deckard could be a replicant)
2007 Final Cut (Scott's final version): same content as Director's Cut many technical improvements
I'm not just fanatical about watches lol...

I have the 2007 Final Cut. It's a two disc set and the second disc has some scenes that were probably in one of the other releases. Never did understand the significance of the unicorn :-/

The linked web page might shed some light on the unicorn, or just make it even more confusing... The white Unicorn

If Deckard is a replicant, that would explain why Roy saved him from certain death. He must have seen it in Deckard's eyes just before he lost his grip. Next time I watch it; I will be seeing it through new eyes!

Yet they did, and I lost out around $150. It sold for about $400. That is cheap, I understand.

This one seems to be as full of "close but no cigar" models as the Horseshoe Bond Octopussy G757. Everyone on EBAY with any Seiko G757 model calls it the Octopussy model. Then you have the Silverwave look alike vs the REAL Sports 100 model (I would have thought it would have been the other way around)

There are so many variations on the ending, like iwaddell said and at least one of them suggests that Deckard is a replicant. I've gotten interested in that watch now, but can't afford it at the prices it's going for.
