I'm heading up to NYC next month for a family event. In my 26 year Florida exile there is one thing that is always on my hit list when I go up - DELI! Now, at least for a one off, I am adding a trip to the Seiko store on Madison Ave.
Has anyone been? Is it satisfying? Do they have the cool shit I want to see (GS, Credor)?
I'm hoping to finally be able to try on a Marine Master and see if it is love and needful (not that I would likely buy at NYC retail, I'd rather order from Japan or get a good deal on a used one). Or, have the chance, see it ain't for me and finally be able to put it out of my head. I had that chance with a 62MAS. An acquaintance let me check his out (original owner, bought as 18 year old infantry grunt at the PX (or is it BX?)). No love and it was a relief to cross it off my list of potential obsession.

Can you just walk in, or do you have to be buzzed in?

I live in the area and was just there this past weekend. Lots of Prospex, Astron and others to see and try on. Prices are high but it is Madison Ave. For example, their price on the Prospex shrouded Monster (4r13) was $575 but the same watch on Amazon is $348.
You can walk right in but make sure to check their hours.

Although small they have a nice selection, no Credor's though (I went last year).
I was not impressed with the staff, although pleasant they were not that knowledgeable which is OK but they did put on airs like they knew what they were talking about even when corrected.
