I feel like a newlywed on their wedding night, an astronaut at liftoff, a mother as they lay her newborn in her arms...
A fairly large box arrived from Indonesia.

Another fairly large box was well-packed inside.

Here is that inner box with a few of the bubble-wrap layers removed.

An unusual Seiko outer cardboard sleeve, in that it doesn't say Seiko? But it is the original, and has the proper sticker on the side.

Mmmm, Seiko Prospex! Tasty! And such a well padded example, too!
Let's pry this open, okay?

Yeaaa! We did it! It is a 2005 Seiko SBDS001 Flight Master!
Ever since Chris Moy started posting pictures of his, over ten years ago, and explaining all the features it has, this has been my biggest grail.
They are almost impossible to find now, especially in this kind of mint condition, with the full kit; hang tags, warranty card, paperwork and everything!!
Let's get a closer look!

This watch does "everything". It's an automatic 12-hour chronograph, running the 6S37 40-jewel column wheel movement. with a screw-down crown and screw-lock pushers, that hand-winds, hacks, with a ion-plated timer bezel and compass bezel, power reserve, date window, dual domed sapphire crystal with (very effective) non-reflective coating, an anti-magnetic case made of protectively coated hypo-allergenic Titanium, display back, with a wonderfully detailed Titanium bracelet held by a 5-hole micro-adjust, two-button locking clasp.
Wheew! That's a mouthful!

Let's pause and watch a little video I put together, with just a touch of help from Watch-Tanaka!
Wow, this watch is SO NICE!! Here is the sexy "S" crown side.

This is the other/not so plain/case/common/subject side.

I have acquired some other very rare, expensive watches, or spent a lot of money customizing watches, and I often find I am afraid to wear them.
But I must say I could not wait to put this on my wrist!! It is so light for it's size, and extremely comfortable.
Not to mention extremely versatile. I think that is style is so "honest" and "functional", that it looks just as "at home" with a suit, going out on the town...

... or worn with jeans, working around the ranch, polishing the teak on your sailboat, or waxing your private plane!

Oh, and one more thing!
Of course it has blazing Seiko lume, and when is the last time you saw lume on the chrono second hand!?! Woohoo!

Thank for watching, and thanks to my Mom for lending me the money to buy this, interest free, as a birthday present!!
