If just owning it gives you enough joy...it's like having a Rembrandt in a vault or a rare Ferrari in the garage...wear it , drive it ! ( I'm not saying to wear it to clean out your gutters or to mulch your yard, but wear it on special occasions - I find myself staring at my wrist all the time, enjoy it!)

I owned a 116520 Rolex Daytona a while back, from new. I wore it for an entire year (this was back when I only owned about 3 watches, a swatch, a Seiko and the Rolex!!). In the swimming pool, the sauna, in the sea, to play tennis with, in bed (!!) everywhere.
I scratched the crystal, dinged the bezel and scratched the hell out of the bracelet. It cost me £850 to get it serviced (it was running > 40s per day out, can't remember if it was gaining or losing) and all the dings and scratches sorted. It came back looking like new.
I reckon I wore it about 6 times in the next 5 years. I sold it and haven't regretted it. If I really wanted another I'd get it. But I don't. I much prefer my Sub and the brushed bracelet and the bezel are much more resilient to wear.
I say a watch is there to be worn. And worn.

Just received this today and it is NOS with box and all the paper including the price tag... And you better believe I'm going to wear it. Already strapped it to my wrist and not sure when I'm taking it off... I love it and I don't want to be the only one enjoying it through glass.
