I have a friend here in Perth that has a Seiko Brights 8R28-00HO, 43.5mm without crown in really nice condition it is a beautiful Green on the Sub dials. Can you tell me if this is a column wheel Chronograph like the 6138/9 series or is it a more sophisticated movement.
He is considering selling it and wants me to take it the price from what I have seen on others is very good, any details would be a great help.
Cheers

Geday Mark, The 8R28 is basically the grandson of the 7017/7018. It still uses the better hammer system like those movements. It's a column wheel chrono and the base calibre is the 7S26. Here's a video of the guts of it - I have a friend here in Perth that has a Seiko Brights 8R28-00HO, 43.5mm without crown in really nice condition it is a beautiful Green on the Sub dials. wow, first time I've seen this movement.
