Wearing the last of my Seiko 630x "Sword" divers today...Yes, I am wearing the fourth and final of my Seiko 630x watches today, this one is a very nice 1977 6309-7040. But why do I have both of my 6309s on WJean oyster bracelets, when I have one 6306 on a strap so I can tell it apart from my other 6306?? Because both 6306s are 6306-7001 models, while the other 6309 I had on was a 6309-7049, assigned to the North American Market, while today's is a 6309-7040, which is a Japanese market version. So no problem telling those apart!! And yes, you have to have one of each! Okay, tomorrow I start wearing my Seiko 6105s, and you don't want to miss that!!! Stay tuned... - Thomas

Is the crown at 8 o'clock position? That's quite common on Citizen divers but less so on Seikos...

All of the Seiko 7Axx series have the crown at 8:00. 7A28 (no date) and 7A38 (day-date), as well as the lesser known 7A34 (date only) and 7A48 (day-date and true moonphase.) I don't know of any others, but there may be some.
