I hate to say this but I do regret selling mine to fund a Speedy Pro.
So after waiting for the right one some months now... this one just arrived at my desk! A few Q&D pics...
Funny that it arrived right after I commented on bertnet's immaculate Speedtimer. Kinda anti-climactic given the stunning condition of his... LOL. In any case, I am very happy with this one. It has a few marks on an otherwise uber-clean case and needs a new bezel (or maybe not). The case lines are crisp, the bracelet is tight and looks new too. I can safely say that this one is a finer example than the one I let go. Quite happy now to welcome back a proper 6138 to the watch box! I'll take better pics over the weekend.

Nice example! You offered me your original one but I didn't have the spare dosh at the time. One of the nicest dials on any Seiko chrono in my opinion.

Thanks guys. There was no doubt in my mind that I made a critical mistake when I sold my first one so I had to set things right. I sized the bracelet this evening and took another quick photo. The white and yellow lights at home had a nice effect on the gold subdials. Like I mentioned earlier, the case, although mint and original has a few dings on it (@ 7 o'clock) and the bezel might need replacement (annoying hit @ 10-11 o'clock). The dings are ok, the crisp lines and the "minty" (yes, I said that word) overall look more than make up for the distractions. I'm concerned about the bezel though, we'll see how I warm up to it over the next few days. Btw, the bracelet is in immaculate condition and very original - not stretched, scratchless.

Thanks guys. I managed to hunt down a NOS bezel with insert. I'll need all the help/tips I can get to do the swap myself.
I also plan to source another bezel (perhaps aftermarket) and transfer the insert currently on the watch to it so I have another 'beater' one. In fact I might just keep the NOS one and do this. Appreciate any advice you can provide.
