I picked up this Tissot yesterday It's my first gold plated watch that's less than 38mm including crown that I'm eager to wear. My normal criteria is SS case and band , >42mm black dial. I tried the Tropic Sport Rally style band but it's 20mm and the Tissot is 18. So just sporting an ordinary leather. I love that my criteria has been shattered. Anyone else broken their mold with one particular watch?

I quite like the tissot visodate in it's various guises. I too avoid gold plated watches like the plague but Jimmy gave me the bones of a gold 6139-6015 and I am fond of that and it stands in solitary isolation in a sea of stainless steel.
Butterfly clasps worried me for ages until I took the plunge and bought a couple of Tissot's with butterfly deployments on stainless bracelets and to my surprise they are great.

Cam, that Tissot is damn nice. I'd wear that harcore. I reckon some polywatch and some wet/dry would clean that crystal up nice. Let me know if you need some.

Also a big fan of the PR516. I've had 5 over the last 5 years (mostly acquired before I discovered the joy of Seiko).
Wear it and enjoy it. A good brown strap would set it off nicely.

I love the PR 516 models. I've got my eye on the re-issues which are at 40+mm. And speaking of molds, case size-wise I don't plan on going lower than 38mm or bigger than 44 (without crown). Everything else I'm willing to try

Hey Cam, are they gold filled or gold plated? It should say on the back.

Its gold plated at 20microns. The caseback is bare which surprises me for a Seastar. The 20 microns is stamped in the lug wells on the case. I love the manual wind + auto. The auto lasted 12 hrs after just wearing it for a morning. The manual for over 24hrs. Have decided to catch and release. I'll use the $ to get a larger Tissot auto. I used some fine diamond paste and it's come up nicely on the glass.

^That white dial re-issue PR516 will be my next Swiss watch (with that bracelet) I've had my eye on it for quite some time. Pretty hard to find these days. The stainless steel rallye bracelet looks really hot on that one.

I love the black dial Tristan. The bubble Crystal makes a difference too. I'm used to flatter glasses but it really makes the watch a bit unique. I wonder if it was to make the dial appear more like a dashboard instrument. Cam
