Hi people! Nice to "meet" you all, I'm a PhD student who is currently doing research in Seoul, Korea but will be heading back to the US soon to write up my dissertation. I've always liked watches ever since my parents bought me a quartz Seiko chronograph 15 years ago. Being a callow teenager I didn't know anything about watches back then (other than that there were some really expensive ones out there), but the interest has recently flared up, leading to three watch purchases in three months and more and more time browsing watch forums. While Seiko's modern lineup certainly appeals, I mostly find myself salivating over the lovely Seikos from the 60's and 70's, particularly those that exhibit Taro Tanaka's "grammar of design." I also really like taking pictures of watches, although right now I am rather limited by what I can do with my phone camera. Here are my three Seikos: 66-8050 and KS 4502-7000
SBDN001I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to add any more, but am doing my best to enjoy what I have already. Hoping to learn more about vintage Seiko history and watchmaking more generally from you all here! -Keith

Hi Keith and a big to Wrist Sushi. This place id going to shape the rest of your horological life You have a nice start on a collection. I particularly like the older hand wind models. Some of them like your 66-8050, are every bit as nice as many of the Grand and King Seikos of the day 7dfe79adc2f0

You can't go wrong with a 66. I'm sure I've got one or two somewhere
