Good idea.
Bad execution.
And most likely way overpriced.

Dirt cheep when compared to other high end (over produced) dive watches, try buying a Rolex 1000M diver for that money. This is the market Seiko is aiming for with these watches. I'm in Singapore at the moment and when standing on the corner of Scotts Rd and Orchard Rd i have the choice of 5 Rolex specific shops and countless other watch shops selling the Rolex brand, but there are only two Shops on the whole Island that sell Grand Seiko's and non in this district. Paris is the same only three shops cary the GS and only one Seiko specific shop!!This makes the GS a rare commodity in an over supplied market and why i love my Seiko's.

Not questioning the Seiko heritage or current competition Swiss advertising machine AKA Harley Davidson marketing plan of an inferior product for an exuberant price (sorry Bob) but this design plain out SUCKS. Seiko could have done better.

In the grand scheme of things, that really is cheap for what you are getting. 1000m water resistance? An in-house, hand-assembled 36k movement?? Hand-finished titanium case?? Can't touch half of a half-as-good Rolex for that. An SDDS is twice that much, and not nearly as much care went into making it. IMHO, those are a helluva deal. Of course, the styling won't be to everyone's taste. I am not a fan of Frankenstein-ish bolt-on bracelets, either...but I am sure those hex heads aren't fake! The SD 600m has a bracelet that attaches the same way.

It's not too bad, but if I could afford that I'd much rather search for a really good 6159 or 6215.
