I've been selling on eBay for 12 years and I've been just hit with my first negative feedback. I notice that there is mention that feedback lasts for 12 months. Does this mean my 100% comes back??
On looking back I can see the problem. I offered an item at second chance because the original buyer didn't pay. They both payed at the same time and I honored the original sale. I cancelled the 2nd chance and refunded. I then got accused of not honoring the sale for a higher bid. I guess it is true in part but I didn't think it was worth a negative over it! Hindsight is a wonderful thing and I realize I probably acted in haste. Lesson learnt. Cam

In reviewing some vendors' feedback, I have noticed "negative" feedbacks with positive commentary and can only surmise that the one posting that negative intended a positive but just clicked on the wrong button in the ebay format.

Yes...after 12 months with no additional negative feedback your feedback "for the last 12 months" will return to 100% positive.

I've been in touch with eBay and they are particular about feedback revisions. If the case of accidental negative feedback- it's pretty easy to get eBay to alter it because it's obvious. Cam

I just removed a comment as I see you've already been in touch with evilBays customer support team. I had a similar one removed from my ratings as I was told you cannot give negative feedback just because you suspect foul play.

I had a similar one removed from my ratings as I was told you cannot give negative feedback just because you suspect foul play. T I think, as with many big companies, it all depends on who you get at the front desk... I've read a few community pages, that read between the lines, say the same. I found it interesting that we as sellers take negative feedback so personally. People loosing sleep, going to extreme lengths ect. I was relieved to realize the percentage is calculated over a year. I stepped in the buyers shoes and realized it would have sucked a bit to have an auction cancelled. I don't think it's worth a negative feedback but that's my side of the story. Trouble is even if he reads my side of the story (I sent him) he will likely use google translate and get more angry from a translation error.
