Hey Guys, As promised, I said I was going to slowly release some of the tool models to the public domain. The first one is the 29mm movement case (the right size for the 61xx series). So go forth, multiply/make or whatever people do these days! www.thingiverse.com/thing:895627

Very handy, thanks for sharing.
Even if you don't have a 3d printer of your own, you can probably find somewhere that has one to use. My local library has a service where you can email them a 3d file and they will print it for you. They charge by the weight of the finished object, $0.05 per gram of plastic used. Seems pretty reasonable to me.

5c per gram is a bargain. If you're really into the tech and trying new stuff, a lot of libraries with the machines will let you volunteer. That's how I got started and all my tool development was done as a volunteer. I ended up on TV here on the "Totally Wild" show, of course I was wearing the Brake Fluid Chrono, which you can prominently see in the video (despite the low res). I start at 12 minutes in. It came out a bit goofy. tenplay.com.au/channel-eleven/totally-wild/season-22/episode-20Very handy, thanks for sharing. WOW What an amazing gesture to make these part of the public domain. I had no idea local libraries had this option so I went to mine yesterday and while they do not, they turned me on to a local university that not only does this but also 3D Scans things for a small fee and then allows you to make the part.
I doubt if I will be doing it soon due to crazy 'real life' time demands but knowing this revolution is out there has totally amazed me.

Libraries are pretty amazing institutions. A far cry from the dusty old places I remember as a kid.
