Thanks gents. As much as I am trying to move away from quartz watches, I had to throw a few offers at this one. Tunas just don't seem to come up for sale all that often.
Some observations:
I THINK some of the earlier Tunas had "Professional" above the six o'clock area. This one reads "SQ"
Judging by the seller's photos, this watch IS running. A big plus.
The caseback looks great - a lot of the photos I have seen on eBay have worn casebacks. Or at least it seems that way to me.
I've seen some posts about movement swapping with the 7549 and 7548 and 6309. I'll be doing my best to keep this one original.
Still looking for any relevant data about the 7549-7010. Thanks for reading.
Dan

Nice score, congrats. Keeping fingers crossed that it will be an easy fix. The 7549-7010 300m Tuna started in 1978 and came with two dial variants.
The JDM 7549-7010 came with the 300m Professional Dial while the export version came with the SQ Divers 300m Dial.

Great score. I have a SQ one too, but arrived with a vibrating seconds hand - ie, needing a service. I've been waiting patiently for my guy to get to servicing it. You might enjoy Cannop's recent strip down and service of one of these on his blog. thewatchbloke.co.uk/

Looks like a nice original :winner:
Hopefully the stem issue is nothing major.

Love the 7549-7010. With the help of everyone here, it's the Tuna I settled on chasing after starting with all options on the table. Agree nice ones don't come by all that often - I wanted an SQ initially but couldn't find one, and eventually wound up with this JDM one: Anyway, hope the fix is simple, and looking forward to seeing it on the WRUW threads!

And thus, the joy of getting a nice Tuna goes down the drain. I left scathing feedback and sent a pissy reply. I sure hope this seller "finds" the Tuna, but I am highly skeptical.

Precise and irrefutable. Without being 'angry' or rude. There have been wise words offered by a mystic tiger on another forum many of us visit, advising against the discussions of auctions that you are yet to receive the item. Deals are best kept hidden until there completed. I suspect it was most likely someone who was watching the item anyway as it was advertised correctly. Which is surprising for someone with a feedback of 4.... I don't know about anyone else, but there is a pride in getting a collectable watch honestly. It forms part of the watches story. I could never gazump someone. It just seems dodgy. Cam

Just awesome.

Just wish he would have been as wise before he blew my 6306 deal of a lifetime: www.thewatchsite.com/21-japanese-watch-discussion-forum/27824-some-one-very-very-happy.htmlGuess he learned.

Dang, that sucks. Perhaps Josh sent him a PM, stating he could get more for it... My heart is black as coal and burnt beyond recognition (along with my liver and kidneys Leaving Las Vegas style) Twasn't me this time I did try to back door the 3 divers on seller had including a 7549 300M when they were first listed at $1 that I posted in the last Images From past Auctions© ™ but 5 days later the seller said no.
