Could you advise if the dial, hands and markers are the original or refurbished?? Very impressive looking in this picture with a few blemishes on the crystal but need a better trained eye to push me over the fence.

That one is a mess... For one thing, the bezel and case have been heavily polished and refinished. The case and dial ring look to be from a 6139-7002, but the dial looks to be from a 6139-7100. And the dial is a clear reproduction...not even original. The hour and minute hands would be correct, but it looks like they and the dial markers have been repainted. The chrono hands are incorrect, and I don't even think they were made by Seiko. This watch was put together from parts of different models. Honestly, this is a perfect example of what NOT to buy. Sorry to burst your bubble, but good ones are out there!

It's all been said. The case has been refinished in a lathe using sand paper. Just look for one that has the same exact finish as the one hal0eight just posted a pic of and you'll have nothing to worry about.

I think I might have a speedtimer one in with a few watches I recently brought to service and sell on. I'll have a look later today or tomorrow when I get into my workshop.

Thanks a lot guys for your responses and for also bursting my bubble . There is always a silver lining, isn't there??? I shall put my mind at rest for the time being. So, what price should I be looking at to get something like the one hal0eight's posted?? The currency here is 3.5 to a dollar, so it gets a bit dear if it crosses the 200$ mark.

These days dirty, original examples go for US350+ and after that you'll need to service them. that said, there's the odd bargain out there from time to time.
