Hi everyone, I'm an American writer living in Tokyo. I moved here in January, though I'd been back and forth between the US and Japan numerous times over the past two years. Why Japan? Japan is an inspiring place to write. I feel a freshness here that makes me want to hit the keyboard first thing in the morning. (After coffee.) And the watches. I like that about Japan, too. There are two watch stores across the street from my apartment building, and of course, about a zillion watch stores scattered throughout Tokyo. I have a few Seikos, including a Seiko Kinetic Arctura, a Grand Seiko and a Seiko Bell-Matic with a beautiful green face. I dabble in non-Seikos, too, and recently bought this Japanese microbrand, a hand wound Cota: Watches are fun! Bill

Sure you'll enjoy your Japan stay. Last time I was there was late 50's with the USN (home ports Yokosuka and Sasebo) sure much has changed (understatement). You should also experience a veritable smorgasbord of JDM watches. With your writing ability, should we expect some upcoming watch reviews?

I'm glad I found this forum. Oh yes, watch reviews are fun to write. Since being in Japan, I've begun to discover Japanese microbrands, which are almost invisible in the rest of the world. I'm going to hunt for some others and post about them. There are lots of undiscovered wristwatch gems in Japan.

Welcome to WristSushi Bill!
Lucky you being in Japan. It's one my favorite places to visit. I recently went on a trip and spent a lot of time at Yodobashi and BIC Camera. Both have an excellent selection at great prices. On previous trips I went to Ginza and looked for CT(?) Vintage and Lemon. WOW

Welcome Bill. I am a big fan of Tokyo, for electronics, architecture, shopping, and food of course! Hope to read about your adventures in watch hunting (and sushi too).
Cheers, Ronald
