Hi, Wrist Sushi!I've lurked a bit since joining but not posted. Since buying my 6309 from a certain Mr. Klein, I thought I'd finally post and say hello. I'm new to Seiko, and watches, really. Since about 3 years ago when I started my quest to find the watch in one of my favourite films, I found it and fell in love with it. Of course I'm talking about the 6105 from Apocalypse now. I honestly didn't think it would be as hard to find such nice condition ones! Since learning as much as I could about them, and how to spot what makes certain ones worth the money (thanks to possibly some members here and particularly Cannop and MartinCRC, I've now got 3 and I love them. The 6309 Spencer sold me is lovely and I'm amazed how long its power reserve lasts. I'm sure it's more accurate than my computer's clock, if that's possible? He gave me the heads up that he was a part of this site so, intrigued, I decided to sign up. I have a 6306 7001 on the way soon and I can't wait. Only trouble is, I have to pay a hefty customs fee and at the moment I'm skint! Anyway, here's a pic of my favourite and I'll be sure to post some pics of the other 2 I have, and the new 6309 from Spencer, who I admire and enjoy his videos very much. One of which made me finally get the 6309 I've wanted for a while since I had a very poor AM 6105 version a good while back. I'm in awe of the skills behind servicing and restoring watches, but particularly the older Seikos that I find are growing on me more and more. I have somewhat of an ambition to be able to take apart a 6105B and fix it. Seiko 6105 Proof from June 1970
Best wishes, Guy

All the guys mentioned are good guys and there are many more here too. There's even a couple of good ladies too ! Sounds like you don't need any help with your addiction, and I bet you'll find the money for the customs charge from somewhere

I asked my girlfriend if she'll pay it and she said: 'What is it? 10 pounds, 20 pounds?' I coughed, and said: '88 pounds, dear'. She said: 'No!' I also think she might have muttered something like I'm crazy, and I should stop buying watches... I'll pick it up in a week or so, I'm sure. Just hope it's OK in a depot somewhere! Thanks for the welcome!

I'll endeavour to get a few more pics up when the 6306 arrives.
I knew this was a bad idea. I'll be destitute within a few months. Woooo! :-D
Thanks for the warm welcome all. Looking forward to being a member and learning along the way.

Ah is it as dull and cold there at the moment, too?! :-)
Also, do all the women go out with barely anything on even if it's snowing? If not, it's not allowed to be called Newcastle!
Very interesting, though! I see it was named Newcastle after the coal port here in 1804 and shares many similar name places. Jesmond, Wickham, Gateshead, Morpeth and Hexham.

Swansea, Cardiff the list goes on in transference of names. And as for the women, there are always scantly dressed specimens. 18-30 yr olds Dressed for action with men they are yet to meet. 12-17 year olds dressing to for the attention that they are probably to naive to understand the probable consequences of.

Welcome Bodo from an exiled toon fan in Yorkshire .I have a heavy cross to carry being a watch addict and having to suffer the agony of supporting The lads without the compensation of the Geordie banter Hey popeye. Well I lived in Leeds for a while, went to school there and we lived near Barkisland. Do you know it? Moved up here in 1990. Have a lot of fond memories of the time. My sister didn't want to leave and indeed she went back, so I visit Leeds every now n then. Worked in london for a bit back in 2006 cockroach, I still miss it but found it hectic to say the least. I'm thinking about moving back down there, having said that... Weather is a sore point... Chucking it down all day today. Is it summer? Has it been.... Why don't I move to a warm country!?☺

Hi Body
This world gets smaller by the year I live 2/3 miles away from Barkisland at Fixby Huddersfield and have spent many hours in the Fleece inn My eldest son went to Newcastle University for the last 4 years and lived in Heaton/Jesmond so we have been travelling up and down the A1 most likely passing one another

ahh, what a coincidence!...the Fleece inn rings a bell, though I was very young then. Wasn't quite in the pub having pints when I was 7! I used to have a little 50cc motorbike and went bezzing around the fields. Good fun. And as for Heaton/Jesmond, well I'm pretty much in Heaton at the moment! I have some days off now, so I can relax finally.........been a long week with Saturday being my Monday equivalent. Gonna be able to finally up some pics over the next day or two of my small set of divers. I should 'divers'ify a little more...
