Not sure this works with vintage watches, where condition, rarity and papers, tags, boxes can push the price well out of that range. (6139-600X or 6309-704X for example)

Add the Seiko 6M26-8050, rare and discontinued but should come in under $500.

Not rare, still available and awesome in my opinion. Citizen Eco Drive. (You could add many models in this field) I've chosen the Nighthawk. 1. The watch is large and clear. 2. The lume is awesome. 3. The bezel is fun and some find it useful. 4. The Stainless steel bracelet matches the feel of my solid Swiss. It is very nice on. 5. It's water resistant enough to wear basically anywhere unless your a frogman. 6. Subtle GMT. it's there if you need it but not in the way if you don't. And it looks like a plane! Cam It's only downfall is a non sapphire Crystal. You can add this like mine from Yobokies and still come in under $500 aud even.
