Discovered why this one wasn't going. Seems someone had a spare screw, couldn't find where any were missing from the movement. Max

Winner winner chicken dinner!
That screw looks like a calendar side screw.
I once bought a 6139 or something for next to nothing and this was the only problem. Love these kind of wins.

Yes it's nice to have a win now and again.
First thing I thought that I may have lost a screw from the dial side down a hole, so I did an inventory of all the screws and none were missing.
This is the watch I'm after the crown for, looks like it will be a goer, got it all cleaned up ready to reassemble and test - it is one of a mixed batch I bought worked out they cost me $1.25 each, sold one day before yesterday for $35 so I think I'm ahead.

I have had this happen quite a few times. If you can shake the hell out of the watch and the seconds hand won't even twitch, then 95% of the time an errant screw jamming the balance or gear train is the problem.

Yep this one showed no sign of life at all, now serviced and completed and running well and still have a spare screw! Max
