Liquid filled this week-end, the difference is not as obvious as previous fills but the double reflection head on is not gone and the low angle visibility is up.

Going with this one I got on Saturday at a Goodwill store here. Gave a box of stuff away, then went in the store walked pass the glass case counter. I had to stop immediately when I seen this in the case but asked if that for sale ? The pretty girl replied back........ ( as they address us here ). She said ......... " Hi Uncle yes it is, would you like to see it, you interested in it " ? I said with no hesitation ........ " Yes, I'll take it if it is for sale ".
The guy brought it in and said it was in his closet for some years with some junk, so he just getting rid of it because it was broken.
She said, Uncle it does not run since it came in for the past two weeks. Then we put it out yesterday just to see if someone wanted. The Tag said ..... ( $15.00 Dollars final sale ). Came with a Seiko Old Box, Booklet, some papers, and the Original sales slip too. The Owner purchased it in ..... 1977 ...... in Tokyo, Japan. I said well it is .... Today and I'll give you .....( $20.00 Dollars ) ..... for it if it is OK , she said ..... " SURE UNCLE ....... SOLD ". I told her about the watch, but she said they said just get rid of it any way you can.
I got it and walked out .......... " 7dfe79adc2f0 ........... SMILING ". I put it in my pocket then waked over to the Snack Shop and got a ...... " Big Chile Kraut Dog and celebrated with it ".
Went home , opened it up and found .............. " The Balance Wheel was not set, it had move for some reason ". I re-set it and it is .....TICKING AWAY ........ now. But I also serviced and cleaned it up too. This one is from ......... November 1977, 6309-7040 ...... in very fine shape too. I think the Bezel Insert has been replace at some time. Aloha Louis

The perfect pick up! You do realise that you will go into that shop again... Very regularly if you're anything like me .... with the hope of another bargain.... I'm afraid you are likely to be disappointed as I can't see you getting much better... Unless some guy decides to get rid of his 6215 "because it was broken"! But at least you have a new excuse to chat up the pretty sales assistant!

I was ill this weekend, so three days worth of faceted SARBs today! Sorry about that, I don't know what was wrong but I was "out of it" on Saturday, and slept most of the day and woke up Sunday with "vertigo", the rooms spinning around like I had drank too much, but I haven't had a drop since last weekend. Very bothersome!! So no WRUW postings, but I did wear some awfully nice Seikos. Let's take a look! ******************************************************** (Saturday September 26th) Here is the other "flashy" faceted SARB Today I'm wearing the second of my sapphire, faceted crystal Seiko SARBs. These are reminiscent of some vintage 1970 Seikos that had faceted crystals, but those eld ones were plain glass and scratched and chipped very easily. Once I saw in real life how amazing yesterday's orange/gold SARB005 was, I realized I had to get the blue/silver SARB001 as well. But as I looked at it online I also realized that the blue was a perfect match for my father's Germanic light blue eyes, and since blue was his favorite color and he had a milestone birthday coming up, my first SARB001 purchase would be for him not me! Happy Birthday PoP! (He loves this watch!!) Okay, once I had that taken care of, I could get one for myself! You'll notice I had the blue second hand replaced with the silver one from the 005, for greater sophistication! And since it's hard to get a dramatic picture with my wrist shot set-up, here are some older pictures that show what this amazing watch can look like out in the sun! Wow, what am amazing watch, really an amazing family of watches! Tomorrow, I'll wear the "Father" of the family. See you then! - Thomas ******************************************************** (Sunday September 27th) The somber "elder" model of the faceted SARBs Here is an analogy for this family of sapphire, faceted crystal Seiko SARBs. If the orange/gold and blue/silver models are an astounding, exotic sister-brother acrobatic act for the Cirque du Soleil, today's watch is their father, who also works at the Cirque du Soleil, as an accountant! It is a much more somber design, replacing the sunburst dial texture with concentric rings (which can cause a cool rainbow effect in the sun), and swapping the polished bezel for a more mature brushed finish. And I helped by replacing the silly bright red second hand with the sophisticated silver one from the 005. (You may have to click the "Big Image"" link on the last picture to see the rings.) So, that is the full range of these Seiko SARBs, with the 6R15 movement and faceted sapphire crystals. They were not around for very long, every single one I've ever seen was made in 2006. I don't know why they were not more popular, although the "stock" catalog pictures didn't do them justice, which may have hurt sales. But I sure love them, they are some of the "coolest" Seikos I own. In fact I'm going to wear another one tomorrow! - Thomas ******************************************************** (Monday September 28th) An unmodified version of the baby blue faceted SARB Sorry to be repetitious, but this is one "spare" I don't mind wearing. Plus it is the model my old boss (and hopefully future boss again) likes the most, and if I get into his department I think I will give it to him as a gift (also he will just about to retire by then as well). I wore it to work just to to show it to him again, and like usual he gushed over it. He will flip if I give it to him as a gift!! Anyhow, it is yet another 2006 SARB, the baby blue/silver Seiko SARB001 with the faceted sapphire crystal. If you look closely you can see this one still has the painted blue second hand. Okay that's it for SARBs with faceted crystals, but I will be wearing another Seiko SARB tomorrow. Can you guess which one? Check in tomorrow and see if you are right! - Thomas
