Hi Thomas Thks very much for the pics, links & info, I think I am going the Oyster route,it look really cool on that. I tried it on the Jubilee bracelet I have, and the end links were nowhere near to fitting, although it fits my 6309 7290 perfectly. Hmmmm sanding down and careful !! Could be an issue there.... Thks once again Thomas Vyn.

Yobokies Hammer (like a President) is a good choice if you fancy something really full-on, big and bold - but it matches the watch really well.

I like the waffle strap and then the super oyster.

I'm contemplating the same thing on 2 6309 mods. The Beads of Rice is good for that vintage feel and the Hammer (President) looks really bold and complements the shape better than an Oyster imho. Both are available from Harold aka Yobokies (including the Oyster). Top guy in my book.

22mm is a lot of steel, and a lot of a single color NATO/Zulu. After trying a bunch of things, I settled on a Bond NATO. It works well with the deep black bezel and the lighter matte black dial:

I've tried wearing my 6309 with a Jubilee and other bracelets, but I personally feel that bracelets don't suit this watch very well and prefer rubber. I keep mine on a DAL1BP. I have its original GL831, (80's era Seiko replacement) but don't wear it due to its age.

If anyone is looking for an oyster for a 6309-704x, you could do a lot worse than UncleSeiko's new SEL Oyster. I got mine today and mounted it on my 7049 immediately. It looks and feels great. At $49 on Wrist Sushi it's a real deal. It's $59 on eBay.
I have a WJean oyster on a 6309-729a, and they are very close in feel and appearance.
Differences? 3 micro adjust holes on the clasp, rather than WJean's 4. The WJean clasp is about 1 link in size bigger. Pin links rather than screws. The clasp on the US is a bit beefier. The name Seiko does not appear on the clasp on the US.
The SEL's fit perfectly.
All-in-all, as of right now, I like the US better. It's a bit more comfortable than the WJean. But both are great.
Recommended!
Dan
UPDATE: I've been wearing the US bracelet all day today (10/8) - 14 hours thus far. It's the most comfortable bracelet I have. I suffered a severe wrist injury a couple of years ago, leaving me with quite a bit of nerve sensitivity. This bracelet does not cause a problem for me!
