Greetings, All.
I'm an event manager in NYC and expect to wear my watches hard, daily.
Went the expensive route (stolen,) then dabbled on the low end of vintage. It was dissatisfying to realize the old, expensive hunk of metal on my wrist (usually a chronograph) was neither functional (for my purposes) nor able to withstand typical daily use. It's no fun to see condensation inside the crystal on a hot day or a seconds hand floating around the dial after a minimal knock.
Received and SNK805 as a gift and over time, realized it's the only honest watch I own. Tough, waterproof and, most importantly, within my realistic price range. I had never loved Seiko design but that realization completely changed my outlook on the brand and, ultimately, the watches. I now favor the divers for the design and functionality (ability to time events.)
My first diver is a modded SKX013 with the 62MAS dial from Artifice Horoworks (have a preference for 38mm.) The second, a 6309, is currently out for service.
My plan was to acquire one tough, daily wearer but I dunno, we'll see. I'm down the Seiko rabbit hole and already looking at 6105s. Enjoying the journey.

Welcome to the Sushi bar. There are a few of us in the metro NY area that hang out here. Where abouts do you live? I'm in Rockland and work WAY uptown.
