In reference to the yahoo.jp auction I can't read Japanese... I read 350 AUD +\- (35000 yen) is it completed or still going? It's ended. $438 usd + commission

Well it's funky, in good condition with bracelet and rarer than any 6138 that I'm aware of (since I've never even seen this model for sale before this thread). I guess the price isn't so surprising in that context.

I considered a bid in the $400 range but then came to my senses although I believe it was worth it. You won't see another one in that condition on it's original bracelet anytime soon.

Agreed. These have been undervalued for a long time and the notion of Swiss vs. Japanese with Japanese being the much poorer alternative is long since passed. I considered a bid in the $400 range but then came to my senses although I believe it was worth it. You won't see another one in that condition on it's original bracelet anytime soon.

Completely agree. That model in that condition comes along once in a blue moon, and everyone who sees one...Seiko fan or not...'ooohhhs and aaaahhhs' over it. Can't call it a steal, but I'd say it's a fair price for such a rare and attractive model.
