Just spotted this on the bay & thought some of you might like to see it. Sadly, the sellers asking too much for it at £238 & it's not working Here's a cheaper more modern looking version. Has anyone else got photos of Seiko clocks or do you own one ? I'll throw this in for fun, some will have seen it before & it's not a timepiece but I think it's of interest

For those that don't know how it should be used, the coloured segments each span 3 minutes and show the period during which radio silence is observed to listen for distress calls on the international distress frequencies. The red segments indicate the listening periods for distress calls made with CW (morse code) and the green segments indicate listening periods for voice calls, usually on frequency 2182 kHz although other frequencies are also used. It also looks like it's a slave clock which would be synced by a pulse from a master clock. All the other clocks on the ship would be slaves also, it kept everyone on board working to the same time!

Thanks for that bit of enlightenment cannop. I was wondering what the significance of the markings was.

Lotta those types of clocks coming out of India right now. Because of environmental regulations (read lack thereof), India is fast becoming the ship dismantling capital of the world.
