Does anyone know the availability of spares for the Golden Tuna 7549-7009?
I bought a franken watch as a project and need a few parts like the crystal retaining ring and the plastic gasket which goes under the retaining ring. One of the click balls is also damaged but I think the whole part needs to be removed from the other side of the case.
Plan is to fit an auto movement like the 6106 or 6309 depending on which one I can make to release the stem from the dial side like the original 7549.

I have a lot of spares for the 7549s. The crystal retaining ring is one that I have here, I believe. Is the current movement dead? Is the release lever missing? You can't use a 6106 in a diver as their day/date quickset is push-to-set. A 6309 will work as that is turn-to-set. Also, the 754x and 630x movements were basically made / designed together, and large parts of them interchange including the calendar side.
Do you have any pictures you can put up?

The watch came with a 7548 but as it wasnt designed for the 7549-7009 the previous owner couldnt get it to release the stem once it was pushed in since there is no case back. It was very familiar opening the dial side of the 7548 as it felt just like a 6309.
I have plenty spare 6309, 6106, 6119, etc so hopefully I can modify the 6309 to have a stem release from the dial side. I want to have an automatic which is why I went for a franken watch instead of a complete 7549-7009 as I'd hate to split up a good working watch.
The watch came with most of the parts but the crystal retaining ring appears not to be 100% straight so it will be difficult to install it.
I'll post up some pictures tomorrow

All you need is a stem unlocking lever, part 397601. They're available and are easily installed.

As Spencer has said, easy fix, you just need to add that part.
Let us know where you so we can find someone to source it for you.

Thanks for the great information I'm currently working in the Middle East but have shipping address in UK and US Is there a parts list available for these watches? I've found a break down of the parts for the 7549-7009 but not the part numbers. For the movement I have plenty 6309 but also have a 6349 movement which is the 23 jewel movement. I'm going to strip that down today, clean and oil it. I'll add a 6106 center wheel bridge which has the cut out for the hacking lever. And if I can find a suitable hacking lever, 6306?, then I'll put that in too at some point - something different at least Will need to look for a suitable black date wheel for the 6309 as I'm going for the nearly all black look with this tuna These are the parts I have and I have a new crystal gasket coming soon as this one looks a bit worn. You can see even in this pic the crystal retaining ring doesnt sit flat. edit: I see that Stefan has 397601 lever
