Then I have no idea what you intend this thread to be or have in it I think the question is exactly WHAT are we trying to show in this thread? 1) Things we intend to buy and suspect might be fake? 2) Things we have already bought and suspect might be fake? 3) Things we KNOW are fake -- making this thread a sort of museum of known fakes?

Then will links to live auctions be allowed? As an aside, I think a Museum of Known Fakes might be really cool (maybe that could be a different thread). Users could post pics of known non-obvious fakes and explain why they are fake. This might be a very good educational tool for buyers who are not experts in a particular type of watch.

There are probably a dozen or more threads on the forum that 'exhibit' known fakes from the not so obvious to the blatant. With a little(or a lot) of work, perhaps these could be corralled and brought into the 'Seiko or Feiko' thread. I'm still not clear on exactly what Tim envisions here...

If they're wanting to place a bid, or make a purchase, but are unsure whether or not the piece is OEM...then pics can be posted here for feedback purposes. I know many of you have the benefit of PM'ing other members who are in the know, but many do not have that luxury. So, I thought this could be a good thing...I've seen it elsewhere, and it worked out great.

I have this also got it of the Bay because it is in ....( Prime Shape ) too. Problem with it: It is a Seiko 5 DX - 6106-8060P AD / but it is a ...6106-8579 Case. This also the Case is hard to find. ( Pardon the terrible and dusty Pictures and they are old. ) Aloha Louis

Don't worry about a little dust. That watch is a beauty and even if the case back doesn't match, it's still a nice watch. As far as I'm concerned, the 6106 is several notches above the 6309; it just seems more refined at the movement level

I had one of these but didn't like the straight end, so modded with some generic end pieces. As far as I'm aware, this was a change or replacement at a service centre at some point, as mine has wear from previous end pieces. Perhaps the original bracelets were notoriously flimsy so they changed them?

+1 for Adrian's and Stefan's theory. I have the same watch with the same bracelet. I think mine would also once have been fitted with the JDM bracelet that you see on the yellow dial one above (as mine has a kanji day wheel). Note however that mine has a slightly different end link.

Also, the same bracelet can be found on the 6139 7080 (with a different end link).

I mostly wasn't sure about the "STAINLESS STEEL" in the fold, and also I can see where the bracelet had work at some point. If I had to guess, my first impression was that it was a Philippines rework using original parts of something. Good to know it actually went to a specific model.

I am a bit of a fan of seiko digi-ana's ... but this one caused me indigestion! this is a current listing # 321925916256 but I think it's a fake ... check out the pics, what concerns me is: back cover ...I get flashing red lights everywhere i look, the font on SEIKO is rough, is that supposed to be a 'suwa' symbol?, and the 4 digit serial number?, SGP ... huh? where's the gold plate - the 'bezel' has a base-metal look to it? And then to the dial ... the symbols 180 200 240 are not even in a uniform curve, the 'S' on Seiko seems un-balanced, the m on 50m is lower-case, the alignment of numbers 5,6 &7 (6 is slightly higher) and compare the placement of the number 1 to number 11 And anyway isn't a cal. 6431 ... an early 3-hand quartz movement dress watch?
