I patiently watched the minutes and seconds tick away on this 'Deceased estate lot' on eBay. It did have the word Seiko in the title so I'm surprised their weren't more bids. Seller image. It's obvious the hero of this auction. It ended at $103 aud in my favour. The case, movement and case back are quite reasonable. The dial is in better condition than I expected. The bezel is solid and clicks with resistance. A new battery had it ticking away immediately (I have a love hate relationship with those battery covers) Here is the rest of the mob that were an easy battery replacement and are running And the 7548 nested on my wrist in the 30deg c Aussie morning sun! The lume on those hands? Original? Can I get that nasty black edge off? I've always avoided hand restorations. Cam

Nice pick up Cam. Hopefully you can flog the others for $20 each and the 7548 is free.

That's a heck of a pickup!
Parts alone are worth a lot, as you know.
By the way, is that a Silverwave in that lot?

What a bargain! That black one does that happen to have a 7546 movement in it? Looks identical to the watch the movement came from in my black 6309.

I was watching that lot, afraid being quartz put me off - haven't had a lot of joy with quartz buys "needs new Battery" usually equates to needs new movement in my experience, so I check them out and if I can't source movements for them I give them a miss.
Probably a negative attitude to have but one batch I bought had some nice Citizen quartz in it but the cost of restoring them was greater than their market value, cheaper to buy working watches.

I was hoping the same. I will possibly recase that one as I have a nice case and band that will suit it. Have about 4 of those movements now. Their post the circuit board but pre plastic movements with 2-4 jewels I think.

We need to start a quartz exchange thread. I bet cumulatively, just with the AU guys, we could nearly fix all of our crap quartz watches by swapping parts. Hey did I see an 0674 LCD in one of your junk watch group shots a while ago Cam. I have a really nice case with a shot module.

Well I have an A914 if anyone needs it. I'd have to test it first though.
