Dude . . . you've got a Marine Master . . . get that bad boy wet! I know, right? But, I'm not sure that is one that I would take out to use for playtime. I'm a tiny bit apprehensive, since I did not purchase it new. I wouldn't hesitate for a second. The watch is not that old. If it were me, I'd have that on a NATO in the ocean. Just so you don't think I'm a hypocrite, I'm going to Virginia to visit my sister soon. She lives on a lake. I plan on taking a few (probably the Stargate, SPORK and Sumo - all of which I bought second hand) down for lots of swimming, fishing, diving, boating, jet skiing, etc. I'm not a bit worried. My 30+ year old 7A28-7040 has never been touched (except for battery changes) and I use that for swimming without fear. It's never leaked (thank God) and it's tighter than a frogs butt! Get that MM300 in the water where it belongs! Have faith in Seiko . . . it's a professional dive watch!

You guys are probably right, I may need to do just that. Those disposable underwater cameras work pretty well, yes? Not bad in the top meter or so of water (where the light is) but they have minimum focusing distance of about 3 feet so less you go arms like a Baboon get someone else to take the picture. Also, when you get them developed get a set on a Disk. You can then tidy them up a bit in Photoshop. Top tip. If they have a massive colour cast (remember the colour RED disappears pretty quick the deeper you go) use Photoshop to turn them black & white. No longer off colour & full of noise. Now cool & grainy & "film noir" lol. E.g. This was took on a $5 disposable camera. In colour was all blue/green & full of noise & looked like S**t! Black & while its all "Moody" & "Captures the emotion of the wreak"

Getting ready to place an order, do you guys think the two window masks have good visibility? It's personal taste Tim. I use a one lens mask. My sons both use two lens ones. TBH, don't think you'll notice much difference. Tell ya what, you don't like it I'll buy it off you (Always need a few spare masks on the dive trips as they get lost broke & sadly stolen) & pay for the postage. Then you can try another one. But TBH, I think you'll br more then happy with it. US divers is good kit. So excited for you, new dive kit. We call it "shinny, shinny" here in the UK lol! Diving turns me into such a kid!!

I think the US Divers makes a good set and Costco sells a pack of 2 sets. Especially if you are going to not use them too much after your trip.
I bought a good set from Japan with silicone mouthpieces and around the mask. It really fits well and is very comfortable. It was about $140 just for the mask and snorkel. I got fins for bodyboarding so they are multipurpose and they work just fine for casual snorkeling. Short fins as DadtheDiver said. The fins were about 70$. If you are going to do a lot of snorkeling during and after I would personally buy a good set.
To be honest, when you rent you will get a good set and it will be comfortable and I wouldn't worry about "germs" too much. I would just wash with water and soap. Get a lens cleaner to keep the fog in the mask down and /or get the naupaka leaves, spit in your mask, an rub the leaves in your mask like we do. Try not to get sunscreen in your mask, it will fog like a london afternoon.
I would reccomend wearing socks the first few times snorkeling with your fins to minimize the blisters on the feet and toes. Bring old socks to wear under your fins.
If you have anymore questions lemme know.....GOOD LUCK! .gifTo the islands my friend!

Muff diving is about as deep as I have ever gone and that was without equipment. Worked my way up to a full two minutes without taking a breath. That's got to be one of the best ways to view tuna woohoo-dancing-banana-smiley-emoticon

I use "washing up liquid" to a) clean the mask b) helps to prevent fogging. Use eco, coz that's how us divers role! "It will fog like a London afternoon!" Love it, gona use that one laughing1.gif!
