I'm a fan of the G, I love various features like repeat countdown timer, flash alarm, auto illumination etc. but this, this monster of bling- the auto light and hand combo makes it entirely useless. I guess it suits those who like diamonds and pearls.... And much more impressive in daylight. Time to flip! Cam

You've got it all wrong Cam. That's not a backlight, it's a beacon for when you're lost in the bush.

I've never understood G-shocks.. a mate has had one for years for fishing and every time i look at it i have no idea what i'm looking at or how it's supposed to be read. I never really noticed until looking at your picture in the right angle that you can see the digital time at the bottom, i've never seen that before. I always just thought there was some secret other hand somewhere that i couldn't see. I don't get the big hand thing in the middle either.

I've never been a fan of the switch to LED. Love the old way better.

I like my G-Shock. Hell, I've worn the battery flat. But this one.... Nope. Agree about the light... must just be for showing the analogue and not the digital time. diamonds and pearls....

I'd agree the backlight is for the analog hands. But when the backlight is gold, the hands are reflective gold, the hour markers are gold and the dial looks like gold Lego pieces, you end up with a back light that looks more like one of those road work beacons warning you to steer clear of danger.

I couldn't even figure out the time when looking at the dial (analog), that thing is ridiculous.

I couldn't even figure out the time when looking at the dial (analog), that thing is ridiculous. In the backlight ficture the time is clearly about 6:05 and in the daylight pic the time is close to 10:55(the hour hand is obscured by the minute hand. Still not a watch that would adorn my wrist though

Still not a watch that would adorn my wrist though Yeah, clearly I do admit, it isn't really all that clear. It's just that you issued a challenge to see if we could tell what time was being displayed. It took more than a glance to see it The only G-shock that I ever like was the Geiz... Tey are a real bitch to set though
