I'm not sure what has taken me so long to get on this great forum. I've been trolling other forums for the last couple of years while in interest in collecting has taken off. Over the last 6 months or so my interest in Seiko has really taken off and now I own a couple of the new SRP turtles (777 & 773), a mostly original 6309 from my birth year (1984), and a good old Monster. I would say that my interest is definitely more in the dive watch side more than anything else but if the right piece comes up anything is possible.
As I've become more interested in Seiko divers, I've also become interested in modding. I haven't done any mods yet, but keep telling myself I need to pick up something cheap and just try it out. Maybe one of you out there have some suggestions for places to get tools that I'll need.
I look forward to getting as much info as possible and interacting on this great forum.

Thanks for the heads up mrjones. As far as tools, where would you recommend? Ebay or Amazon?

I would guess that it makes no difference if you buy the cheap stuff on eBay or Amazon. That's not to disparage the cheap stuff - one has to start somewhere and the cheap tools do work, maybe not so comfortable.
One thing you should not skimp on are the screwdrivers. They really make a difference. There is a thread on it somewhere. It doesn't HAVE to be Bergeon, but they make fine tools... Cheap screwdrivers just make your work difficult.

Penguin Pete,
To answer your question about my username. I'm an Air Traffic Controller and the term "pushing tin" is often used by many (both in the profession and not) when controlling aircraft. Hopefully this answers why I chose tinpusher

Welcome! Seiko diver's are really cool and there is such a variety in that genre that you'll not get bored.
