So, in my quest to pad out the collection away from the usual 6309's, SKX007's & 6105's. (Nothing wrong with them, lucky to have them myself. Just I feel the "others" need a little love too!)
I'm stalking a "SEIKO 7548-7000" on the 'bay. Not perfect & has a bit of AM hand action going on but it's "giving me the eye" if you know what I mean. That "one more drink baby & you can take me home look" banana1.gif.
So, opinions please, yes, yes done some "Googling" but all I can find is SEIKO 7548-7000's that are/was for sale on other forums.
If you've got one, what do you think? If you had one, why did you sell it?
Thanks guys thunbsup.gif

The one from a HHC ? If you end up with it & hate the hands, mountapo_ merchant on the bay has some for under a tenner with p & p. They look whiter than the one's that are on the watch that I think you're looking at but it's difficult to say what colour they are from the photo.
I've got a 7548-700B which is pretty similar. They're nice, heavy, chunky watches & seem popular, so should be fairly easy to move on if needs be.
Good luck thunbsup.gif

I don't have one but if I had a choice between the 7546/8/9 and the 7C43/46 I would chose the 754x. The reason being that it can be very accurately regulated via a rate trimmer capacitor. The 7c43/46 has only one adjustment and it's done by cutting a trace on the circuit block which only gives a single adjustment and is permanent.
That being said; I would probably not wear the quartz version of the diver as I much prefer the mechanical movements.

Yep, and already "Saved" Ed's (mountapo_ merchant) hands for if I need them. Had a few bits & bobs off him plus my favorate 6309 cusion (dived it to 40 + meters too!) so trust his service. Will see what happens.

I've owned several of the 7548 divers over the years. They're dead reliable and the accuracy is on par with the newer 7c43 and 7c46 JDM movements. My current variant is a one owner unmolested 7548-700F ( navy blue dial , pepsi bezel) from May of 1982. I find myself wearing this watch more than anything else that I own. Personally speaking, I'd shy away from 7548s that have obvious flaws or have been tinkered with in the form of aftermarket parts. These are still very common watches and a litte patience will definitely net you a nice one. Prices fluctuate greatly depending on the sales venue. But I've never paid more than $125 for a clean example. Best shawn

Great watches and I wholeheartedly agree with Shawn. Unmolested great examples of 7548s come up regularly in both black and pepsi. The oranges are a bit tougher, but unmolested excellent examples are still far from rare. Now, the mint green one is another story...

Lovely watches, I have an orange one, where the insert is a steely faded blue /gray, and a black one with a donor 7546, both kanji, both excellent beaters. Mikemounce seems to have an unlimited supply of honest examples fairly often.

The pepsi model above is beautiful.
Is there a buying guide for these? I looked at the other place and there isn't one there. What's the part compatibility with other models?

You can swap any 7546 movement for a 7548 and also the 7548 is a direct drop in into a 6309 case, if you want a quartz mod. most of the "outside" parts like bezel ,insert, crystal are also swapable with the 6309-704x.
