Hey, everybody! This is Hans Petter from Norway.. I have always liked japanese watches, especially Seiko. I have 6 of them (waiting for my 7th...). I came across this forum when I was googling for info on an old watch of mine which got destroyed by seawater in the late 80's.. Luckily I was able to find one on ebay (after searching for a loong time..), so now I am eagerly awaiting my NOS 7A28-7049 (Same as 7040, except for the US-market). This was my first favourite watch ever, so I was excited to find such a good example on ebay. Decided to join this nice forum in the process.. HP

Get ready to increase your collection waaaaaaay beyond its current size Hans, and significantly decrease the amount of Kroner in your bank account in the process!

So you were the one... Oh well, can't have them all... Welcome to WS, Hans! Thanks! So you followed the auction too?? Sorry about that! I was a bit worried that someone might throw in a bid during the last couple of minutes.. I am very nostalgic about that watch. After owning it for a few years, I took it to get the battery replaced by a proffesional watchmaker. He obviously f**ked up, because the next time I went swimming, the watch was filled with saltwater and rusted quite a bit before I had a chance to open it later the same day. Maybe there is another one for you out there, somewhere?

Welcome Hans! Great watches those 7A28-7049s. My parents bought me one in the 80s and I still have it and love it! I'm also blessed to have my Dad's 7A28-7089 Titanium watch!
