Thought my luck had changed, located a balance complete for my 8306 at Cousins, after paying the freight and several weeks wait it arrived! And this is what I got : Completely inadequate packaging for the post in My view. And this is Cousins answer to the problem. On the balance of averages I am going backwards on this one. Or should that be on the average of balances? .

Ouch. Reminds me of the engine gasket set I got a few years ago which was damaged before it made it into the box based on the packaging when I got it. Luckily when I called to complain the person that answered the phone was my doppelganger on the other who was just as pissed off as me with his dumbass' / halves coworkers that worked there that let through and wanted the "picked by" number on the invoice.

well i am so sorry...there is nothing worse that that...i would go higher up on the food chain at cousins...that is a very foolish response as they are the ones who shipped it to u...i have been in retail management for over 25 years and unless they are fools...they will not want to upset their customer base...i find that underlings will have the response like u received...i call it the age of the idiot..they blame everyone but themselves for their mistakes and it is always about them......they need to take responsibility for their mistake and refund u or send you one like they should have in the beginning...i also was in charge of fixing many businesses with problems like this...i am sure if u keep calling...someone will finally take care of this...God Bless,John....it is not about the money...it is about the right and wrong of it...

Yes John, I have written them a letter expressing my displeasure, they are nicely set up - no email contact - only the automated push button web page contact. OK they have a disclaimer in their terms of use to cover this eventuality - still leaves a lot to be desired, (a) they should check the condition of the item before dispatch and (b) check that the packaging is suitable for carriage by the postal system. The balance as photographed is in the original unopened packaging - a balance complete bouncing around loosely in a plastic box does not seem adequate to me.

I'll see if I can find one for you. Thanks Adrian, a real pain in the proverbial- the part cost almost as much as the watch and starts to reach the point of not being a viable option to spend more money on it, it's no glamour girl.

Max do a chargeback with your cc company? Tell cousins unless you receive a refund for fault merchandise you will pursue a merchandise chargeback as your credit company is willing to do so. Explain again that this is a result of inadequate packaging and to either refund or resend or the money will have to be reversed via the bank.
Just an idea but may be worth a shot?

That is an option, though I don't want to come in too hot and heavy, as I depend on Cousins for a lot of parts & stuff, it's one of the few places you can get an account, without a letter signed by the Pope stating you are a Watchmaker, and I don't want to blow whatever goodwill I have there.

Hi John,
Had thought of a phone call, but International calls can be a bit on the pricey side and some of these places you end up on "hold" for half an hour while they find a responsible adult. Will try a tersely worded letter in the first instance and see if that brings any positive result, I don't really like dealing on the phone they can agree to anything and later claim ignorance of the agreement - I like to get it in writing.

Well i find that a phone call will get what u want as i make them credit me while i am on But do not let them hold u hostage for your refund And i would not do business with them again With all the great people on here and all the great vendors out there they seem very tone deaf to say sorry but nothing that they can do Just my 2 cents God Bless,John

What a bunch of rip-off artists...someone over there should pay them a visit with a live grenade

Uh... No grenades, please! We depend on them here on this side of the pond! That's not to say that they should be able to absolve themselves from anything they are responsible for. Yeah, you're dealing with them as a "professional", but even B2B has some ground rules...
