I listed this watch on the Craigslist/Gumtree thread, only interested because I know nothing about the model, did a Google search and could not find a similar watch, I can't read the calibre/model on the case back shot, the watch seems to be in very good condition for a 1988 watch, though it does appear to be an old model by the number of pushers. Can anyone enlighten me as to the veracity of this watch and what is its movement calibre? The sellers description: "Rare Seiko Silver Wave divers 200m Chronograph vintage men's watch from 1988 era. Excellent working order and great condition for its age. All solid stainless steel. Rare hard model to find." .

Not 1988, it's a 2008 model.
Not rare.
Bog stock 7T34 movement.

Thanks Adrian, I was very sus about it, it looked too modern and condition looked to good for 1988, as for Silver Wave - I wasn't aware they made them in divers, and didn't know how late they were producing the 7T34 movement. Oh the traps for the unwary - so much for truth in advertising!

Its a 7T32 - the 7T34 has subdial at 3pm as well (for date indicator).

No silverwaves past the 1980's. I'd say 1998 7T32.
1988 is too early (actually they stated making them somewhere around then, but that model is too recent), 2008 too late for the 7T32. The 7T62 took over in the early 2000s (2002?).

That particular seller has some pretty lose descriptions. One of his Seiko watches is a flat out fake and sometimes his prices go up and down a couple of times in a day. I think it was him I bought a 7006 8030 off a couple of years ago. The (incorrect) crystal was glued in on top of the caseback gasket. Take what he's got to say with a grain of salt.

Further Information the model is 7T32-6J90 so it sounds like it would be from 1998 and the price is now down to $150.
