Hello folks! I recently acquired the Seiko SSB003. I love the 6T63 movement. The issue is that as long as I'm wearing the watch it runs great and keeps great time. When I put the watch in the box at night it stops running within an hour or so. I have installed a fresh battery and I did short the AR/+ as instructed. Maybe I didn't do it properly?? Has anyone had problems with this movement? This is jus a little aggravating 😐 😁.

Might be gummed up oils? Your wrist is "warm" and in the box it's just that bit colder that gets the oils to slow down the hands?
Does it start up again when you place it on something warm? (Not too warm, though. Radiator on low setting, sunlit windowsill...)

I assume it may possibly need a good cleaning.

Sorry, can't help you there. I wouldn't recommend doing it as a novice, though.

I had the same exact watch and had a problem with the movement, here is my rebuild and mod thread, perhaps it can help you in your quest, this movement is quite complicated and delicate IMHO The hands on my were originally silver and too thin, which was very hard for me to read, hence the hand change...

That looks nice! Did you add a domed crystal too? I'll check out the link. Thanks!

That is definitely some work you put into it. I think I'll just leave it as is and enjoy the watch. It only stops at night when I'm not wearing it. All of the chrono functions work fine. Thanks for responding.
