Saved another from an uncertain fate, received a Seiko 8M25-7030 in a mixed batch I purchased, rather a plain looking individual and a battery didn't bring any life signs. So I decided an overhaul was in order, stripped it down and was surprised just how grotty the movement was, however after a good cleaning I could see no obvious faults so I proceeded to rebuild it, all came together with little fuss and then the moment of truth - in with a battery and life was restored, went through the reset procedure and all systems are working. Now just have to fit a new crystal and it will be a nice watch. As received: Now :

Glad you got it sorted out! I kinda dig the minimalist look on that one...reminds me of the tachometer in a classic car or something.

Yes it has a real "Dress Watch" look to it and it is so slim, will really look the part when it gets a new glass. It is intriguing that it does so much with just 2 hands.

Good work and thanks for the detailed teardown pics in your other thread. Downloaded and saved as a pdf booklet so I can't get hit if we have another pbucket disaster.

Yes that is a good idea, I tend to save all useful info, just in case it disappears or I forget where I found it, as for pbucket it has destroyed a heap of threads, made useless by the fact all the images have gone.

That's actually quite nice! The simple case&dial design really work well.
