I see only one Spork on eBay, and almost none for sale on the forums that I can find. The one on eBay is $625 I think. What are these actually going for these days? Are they as hot as they were? Hotter?

I sold one for £360 a few months ago. Was on ebay BIN and sold in 5 hours! So poss could have gone for a tad more. But I wanted a quick sale as had the chance of the 6105 I have now Would have held on to it but had 2! I got myself one & my daughters got me one a week latter so that's the one I kept.
PM Polly, he recently sold one too I believe.

What kills is that they were cheap - around $200 USD - when they were discontinued.

I thought it was closer to $400-$450 not long ago, but I could be wrong.

The last couple I saw on another sales site the asking price was $500.00. I wonder what is up with all of a sudden watch prices a going crazy and some of those watches are junk!

I had one two years ago. I wasn't particularly impressed. I even had a hard time selling it BNIB. I wouldn't pay any more for it than I would a Monster.
The demand for some of these some of these discontinued models is ridiculous. Yeah, $600 Sammie, I'm looking at you.

I couldn't justify spending $200 or so for a watch when I could get a SKX007 and a Yobokies dial and hands and do it for less. I liked the Stargate case but wasn't hot on the hands or dial when it came out but thought about buying one for about a day or so. I didn't like the Sumo and the $400 price tag helped me hate it. I was fortunate to get a like new one in an even up trade 3 times over in my favor and have to say I like it but would never had made the leap on my own. As to the Samurai both the stainless steel and titanium were churned out for years so there should be no reason for them to be worth more than the original issue price.

I pretty much agree with cd about the Spork, an SKX007 modified with a pilot dial and hands is a much cheaper option and wears better IMO. It was the wearability issue that made me decide to sell mine, (its too heavy). In the end I sold it privately for £350 to a guy I had dealt with before and did not let the auction run to its conclusion. I think £300-£400 is about right for a good one depending on the day.

Don't do it Spencer. . . . . you'll regret it down the road!

The dial and hands on the spork are awesome. Harold's stuff is good, but not seiko good. Case is the same as the BFK and is a hunka steel. I thought the insert on mine was a miss as it seemed to be just a whisker too shallow in the bezel and as a result all I could feel was this lip of metal from the bezel around the edge. At the end of the day, the Spork just didn't seem enough Seiko to me. I keep a thin collection and not really a collector in the truest sense, so it didn't last long. By the time the stargate came out, I started to lose interest in mechanicals so I really have to like the design a lot to get over that hump. didn't like the stargate enough. Now the Ti Blue Sammie....that's one regret. Just can't see spending the money on one now. A friend just sold his 2 weeks ago on the bay for over $700. Reason may tell you otherwise, but that's what they're selling for.

That is one of my major pet peeves with a watch beside minute hand and second hands that don't reach the minute track of the dial.

Don't do it Spencer. . . . . you'll regret it down the road! It's just too darn big! I never wear it, it's like cartoonishly big for me. The proportions are great, it's just about 15% too large.
