Just in from Yahoo are a brace of Cronos divers. They made 3 types j13028, j13032 and j 13046. These are 13028 and 13046 and in lovely condition, one running and one not. Got two new crystals from Vlad and with a service from Benchdweller, they will be good to go. I’m guessing they are early 1960’s but cannot find much about them online. Any ideas? They do have the screw in case back, which I believe was the first instance of it being used on a Seiko diver. Small in size but quite chunky and I really like the dials and font for the name.

Just curios; what makes these divers? There is no lume, no adjustable bezel and nothing else to delineate them as divers. We've seen the 30, 50 and 70 meter Water Proof on any number of non dive watches. from the same period.
I'm not looking to start anything; I'm just trying to find out why the 'diver' reference.

Very nice score. The dials are lovely in that late 50’s to mid 60’s way. Would they have been on leather or bracelets originally. And are you going to seek out a J13032 to get the set?

The final piece of the jigsaw, a J13032 50m diver won this week on Yahoo.JP So now got the full set. I think these were Seiko’s first go at a divers watch, with screw back case. Not really a diver in the traditional sense, but nice looking watches all the same.
