This (possibly) ‘80s Vostok”Scuba Dude” Amphibia has been a favourite non- Japanese grab and go, since I got it a couple of years ago.
It’s been pretty accurate, and acceptably comfortable in totally original form. But standard Vostok bracelets are generally despised, and are usually the first thing to be modded. I’ve been quite impressed therefore, that this one has been used for the past 30 years (until I bought it),on it’s original bracelet. My own feeling has been that I’d prefer it on a more sturdy bracelet, and having received a proper bracelet for my ‘Orange Monster’, the bracelet I had on that ( an AM Chinese import) has become available, and (imho) suits this 960 case very well, and more importantly, is very easy to fit ( particularly at the ‘shoulders’).
I’ve fitted (short term), a discarded bezel from another model, which seems ok for now, and is quite pleasing, but I will be ordering an AM bezel and a Seiko insert soon.
Nothing special, nor anything that hasn’t been done before, but the rugged versatility of these sturdy 200m rated, 31 jewelled divers has really impressed me, so you all get to hear my ramblings.....😉
