Had the pleasure of meeting scubarob99 last night before the Judas Priest, Saxon, Black Star Riders concert which was held at the Prudential Center in Newark NJ. Rob is a great guy and I hope we get more chances to have a drink or two before some metal shows! Thanks for the Jack hat Rob!!!!!

‘British Steel’ ranks as one of the best Priest albums ever, along with Saxon’s ‘Wheels of Steel’. Add ‘Back in Black’ and 1980 was a great year in rock!

If you haven't heard the latest Saxon ablums, you're in for a treat. Excellent stuff! The new Priest is also VERY good!

Pleasure meeting you Bob. Rob A couple of things to note: 1) The restaurant / bar looks like a real "s" hole and the neighborhood wasn't the greatest (though not that bad) but the food is really good there (had dinner before this show and Iron Maiden show last year). Drinks were reasonably priced! 2) We were treated to an appearance of Glenn Tipton at this show. He's not touring with the band any more as a result of Parkinson's Disease. Their producer (Andy Snead) is filling in for the tour but Tipton came out and played on 3 songs during the encore. I doubt very much that I'll ever get to see him play again but the good news is that at the end of the show, the screen behind the drums had the message: "Judas Priest will be back". All in all, Priest and the opening bands put on an amazing concert with Priest really stealing the show.

Just checked on tickets for their show in San Francisco, and it appears to be sold out. It's on a Thursday, not sure I could make that happen anyway.

If there is any way you can do it, I'd highly recommend it! I'd even say just go to the venue on the night of the show and see if you can grab a cheap ticket. My buddy had a spare ticket (his son works for the road department and with the snow storm couldn't go) that he sold to a scalper for $30 (it was a $110 ticket) so you may be able to grab something. If you're a Priest fan, you don't want to miss this one!
