Pretty silly to have equal check marks in the "In-House Movement" columns !
Rolex Cal. 3135 is COSC and most run +/- 1 sec./day. My last Citizen Eagle 7 Datejust homage ran +12 sec/day.
Every Rolex model has been paid tribute to by Seiko and/or Citizen. If it's "The Look" you want that is the way to go for sure. If the timepiece is what matters to you, let's get serious for a moment and stop bothering to compare apples to oranges.

D. Freemont vs Davosa
I read an article in the Watch Times annual back in 2003 that featured D. Freemont original watches.
I have owned a few and was impressed with the designs, the limited edition status, reasonable price, and accuracy of the ETA movements.
He regulated every watch before it shipped to the original owner and included the timing sheet and all of mine new or preowned were +- 5 sec a day.
After a few years and searching the internet with his correlation as being the NA distributor of Davosa watches it turns out he used Davosa cases with dials of his own design individually numbered and off the shelf hands.
Again no foul as this is how I was turned onto the Davosa brand.
I finally found my Davosa Pares orange dial after 5 years and it runs 30 sec fast a day.
So what do you get with a rebranded "limited edition" watch.
Sometimes more than you expect for the price.
As to the Rolex VS. the world argument you might as well pair up Rolex VS. Harley Davidson for the UFC Championship.
If they had as many engineers as lawyers you might actually own something worth a damn if it wasn't for their marketing machines . . . . .

While you can build a pretty nasty 350 HP Toyota 22RET out of a 100HP 22R block somethings were never meant to be. While Rolex can claim COSC out of their +$5K watches any competent watchmaker can swap the escapement for $12 from the parts houses on an $300 watch based on an ETA 2892 movement and get the same results. I know because my remastered Omega Dynamic is 2 sec a day no matter how I lay it down

So true. So many watches can be regulated to COSC, it's rather easy to achieve really.
My Datejust came from the factory at +0.7 s/d and has stayed there spot on regardless of season, activity level, etc. I used the Twixt iPad app to check its time over 2 weeks and the app reported "+ 0 sec/day" Kinda nice performance.
We all appreciate the fit and finish of a fine watch, like the Grand Seikos and Rolexes and Omegas and Brietlings, but in reality just for very good timekeeping there are many more economical options. These watches are for those who want great timekeeping and a little more.
Kinda like how a 2013 Ford Focus or Kia Optima have the same check list of features as a $100K Mercedes and they all drive quite well, but build quality and the subtle deeply engineered differences command the higher price for the Mercedes for those who can afford it.

I was able to buy one of the last orients that are a homage to the Rolex. The black face was unavailable so I got the blue one. It is supposed to be the best look alike. Cost if I remember well was $130.00 with Island.

I like the Citizen Sub. Did I read correctly, "Vintage"? So, this is an older Citizen model?
I love Automatic Citizens. I wish there were more Auto models rather then 80% Ecodrive movement.
Thanks for sharing . . .
