hello everybody,
have to tell you a little story in order to explain me being here, so if you have sot ome time here it goes.
In 2002 i got a Seiko as a present from my auntie, which eventually i gave to my father, after he passed away a couple years ago i got the watch back. At the time i had a tissot and a breil both quartz and a third quartz watch which was this seiko, decided to fit new batteries on them as they were all stopped, instead of taking them to the watch shop decided to do it myself as the price of a small watch tool kit from amazon was cheaper than replacing three batteries at the shop.
Ordered tool kit and batts when it all arrived changed all 3 batts but seiko wasnt running, tissot and breil were ok up and running, started to do some research online about this seiko watch which is a sportura 7t32 and realized that there was more interest in this 7t32 movement than i expected, so i decided that wanted to have the watch running again and would do it myself repairing my watch movement not just changing it with a donor one.
Started to spend more and more time looking and reading into seiko and seiko movements and then BAM i found the pogue, completely loved it since i saw it and the story behind just amazing, then discovered 6139 and 6138 movements and all its different models, pogue, kakume, panda, holy grail, bullhead, etc
Heres where i should say i have always enjoyed working with mechanical appliances, would always much rather work on a carburetor than on something with a laptop, mechanical watches have always attracted me because they are fully mechanical tiny little machines so always big fan of them.
Decided that would like to try servicing and repairing watches and would start with seiko as its a brand that has some great models and not mega expensive so could give it a try. Bought myself some cheap chinese watch movements and also a kit to build up a watch, some more more tools arrived of course and then watches started to arrive, seiko 6309, seiko 7019, then i bought a black(blue) 6139 6002 resist, absolutely love the watch, chronographs have always been my favorites!
Then bit more look into seiko got me into diver watches, ok they are not chronos, but still very nice and also with history attached to them so also a nice vintage watch, so got some divers too, 6309 7040 skx 009, buying these watches with the intention of having a small collection and also to learn how to work and service them.
Pretty much that sums up why am i here i think
very nice to meet you all, thank you for having me here
kind regards to all
