I like it but I'm sure it's out of my price range of affordability.

You'd think (for the money this must cost) they would put a little more effort in styling the date window/display, somehow.
Too stock to be on a par with the rest of the watch, IMHO.
But . . . talk about strap matching watch . . . amazing!

Way too big. Way too expensive. And I never really cared for limited edition 'collaboration' watches. Though I do like seeing what are obvious "Grammar of Design" elements return to the GS.

But . . . talk about strap matching watch . . . amazing! My thoughts exactly. For 5 figures I would want a matching dark red date wheel. I know custom date wheels add to the cost, but what would it add, $25-50 to production costs? On a $10k+ watch, seems rather insignificant in the grand scheme of things. I can only accept non-matching date wheels on watches <$1k. At that price point it's to be expected. Beyond that price and I'm like "Come on, really?" But I agree with you about the strap. Simply perfect. Looks like lava cracks coming up through black Earth. Awesome fit for this watch. It's surprising to see GS dropping the ball with the date wheels recently. Typically they're one of the best brands when it comes to incorporating date wheels into the overall design of the watch (like on the SBGA375). But there are other recent examples where they dropped the ball with the date as well. Like the SBGE248. Honestly, just leave the date wheel off if you're going to slap it on there as an afterthought.

To me it makes the date window easier to find at a glance. Aesthetics are important, but, for me at least, functionality trumps.

To me it makes the date window easier to find at a glance. Aesthetics are important, but, for me at least, functionality trumps. Of course legibility is important. I'm not saying they should've made a rose gold date wheel for the SBGE248, but they could've at least put an applied rose gold border around the date window. That would have gone nicely with the hands, which are rose gold with white lume on the interior. Just a glaring white hole on that rose gold accented dial makes it look like the the designers noticed that they forgot to add the date window at the 11th hour and just slapped it on there to finish the job. I expect random cut-outs for date windows on sub $1k watches. At $5k plus, it shouldn't be an afterthought.
