This is Ramone's picture from his auction... This what came in the mail today... I think someone did some Photoshop on the dial so that a buyer wouldn't be fooled into thinking this was a Seiko watch. Ramone described it as a vintage diver; not a Seiko diver so he gets full marks for telling the truth. The movement is a genuine 6309A movement that works very well. Even though the Timegrapher snow would make Santa itchy to get going; it is a clean and relatively unmolested looking unit. The case may not be Seiko because it has a sprung click 'wedge'. Instead of a click ball like the 6309 divers, it has this wedge at 11 o'clock. An interesting feature is the screw down crown which is the same construction as the SKX it is trying to be; but this is a 6309 so someone has done some work. I fully expected it to be like the picture in the auction and was ready to toss everything except the movement but my idea of modding it may be just a new dial, hands and insert. Gotta go cruise Dagaz Watches for ideas.

Nice score Peter !
Ramon sold me a totally not SKX007 Seiko diver described as "Seiko 7S26-0020" a year or two back. He usually does a fairly good job of not calling a fake a Seiko but in my case he did, but then I realized it looked a lot like a mid-sized Seiko with an AM dial and wrong case back. It certainly was a legit 7S26 movement.
Anyway at first I was pissed but there were usable parts and I then sold the rest off properly described as "God Knows What it is" so I figured I'd move on but I have been super leary of his "Seiko" divers since then.
He is an honest seller and everyone makes mistakes including me and sometimes things are hard to see for what they are, etc.

Often what he sells is better than described. I started buying from him mainly because the stuff was dirt cheap and over time I found that much of it was restorable and usually ran in spite of claims to the contrary. I have never assumed that his products are anything more than donors for parts but have often been positively surprised. Because this piece is in good condition and all the parts work so well together, I think it's going to make a nice 'diver' mod that will not infringe on any one's IP If nothing else I got a really nice 6309A that is running quite well. With a full service, this one could be a very good time keeper

I've got 2 x fake 7S26 movements here that pass for reals at a passing glance. When I have time I'll do a teardown video. I also, like you, got a 6309 from him a while ago that was 100% fake. The case looked great but when I pulled it apart, it had some weird plastic crap around the bezel sill which acted as the click and other shitty things. Nice score Peter !
